Lifespan & Troubleshooting FAQs

Q1: My filter's lifespan is shorter than expected. What could be the reason?

A: Common reasons for reduced service life include:

High Humidity: Using standard media in a damp environment causes dust to cake and block the media.

Chemical Attack: Exposure to acids, oxidants, or solvents beyond the media's tolerance (especially the standard version) degrades the fibers.

Abnormally High Dust Load: The system is overloaded, beyond the filter's designed capacity.

Incorrect Differential Pressure Settings: Pulse cleaning cycles that are too infrequent or too frequent can impact life.

Q2: I see dust downstream of the filter. Is the filter faulty?

A: This is called "dust bleeding." Potential causes are:

Improper Gasket Seal: The filter pack is not seated correctly, allowing dust to bypass.

Media Damage: Holes in the media from chemical degradation, physical damage during installation, or highly abrasive dust.

Lack of Pre-coat: On a new or deeply cleaned filter, fine particles may initially pass through before a dust cake forms to aid filtration. Pre-coating might be recommended.
